MASSACHUSETTS AND IRELAND

Travel & Culture Magazine Summer/Fall 2019(BOSTON) -- The Boston Irish Tourism Association (BITA) has released its 2019 summer/fall issue of Travel & Culture magazine, a compendium of Irish festivals and concerts, culinary, cultural and literary activities taking place in Massachusetts and throughout New England.

The 28-page color magazine is distributed free at visitor kiosks and cultural venues throughout Massachusetts and is available in digital format online  from our home page.

This issue has feature stories on Newport, RI and Rockport, MA, two cultural destinations worth visiting in New England. It has summer music, sports and educational opportunities at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton and a description of Tanglewood's summer season with Boston Symphony, Boston Pops and musical guests. There is also a remembrance of AOH leader David R. Burke, and updates of Irish-American commerations at Deer Island, John Boyle O'Reilly homage and the Irish Immigration Exhibit at the Massachusetts State House.

The Ireland section features stories on golfing, traditional music, and group tours, as well as iconic sites from the hit series, Game of Thrones.

BITA is celebrating its 19th year as a year-round, cultural tourism organization that promotes the state’s largest ethnic community.  The US Census reports that nearly 24% of all Massachusetts residents claim Irish ancestry.

BITA publishes three issues of Travel & Culture  each March, June and November, and has developed the Boston’s Irish Heritage Trail, which highlights Irish landmarks throughout Boston and around the state.
