Perhaps the most enduring symbols of Boston's cultural richness, the Boston Pops and Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) play the best music to be found anywhere. John F. Kennedy is revered as one of the nation's most beloved and iconic presidents. His presidency, though short, was filled with major events from the establishment of the Peace Corp, the Civil Rights Movement, and advancements in the Space Race. The United States in the 1960s was filled with revolution, war, and uncertainty. Citizens lived in a state of change and put their faith in JFK to restore society to normalcy and national pride. The Kennedy Museum is a place that keeps these fond memories alive. Hyannis Port has a long history with the Kennedy family, especially John F. Kennedy and his children. Hibernian Hall has a rich history of service to Roxbury since it was built in 1913 by the Ancient Order of Hibernians and served as the hub of social activity for Boston’s Irish community for nearly 50 years. Reopened in 2005 as the Roxbury Center for the Arts at Hibernian Hall, the facility has a two-story performance space and ballroom with an adjacent caterer's kitchen and conference center.
