The Boston Irish Famine Memorial was unveiled on June 28, 1998 as part of a series of worldwide commemorations to mark the 150th anniversary of Ireland’s famines that took place between 1845-49.
This spring, restoration work was completed on the twin bronze sculptures and eight narrative plaques, along with upgrades to the grounds, fencing, benches and landscaping.
